Fiemme Valley

Residence Mich is in Tesero, a small and enchanting mountain centre in the heart of Fiemme Valley in eastern Trentino. A land of great contrasts and countless meanings... Fiemme Valley means Dolomites first and foremost, the princess mountain chain, acknowledged in 2009 as a UNESCO natural heritage site. Our territory is gently cradled by the evocative slopes of the Campanili del Latamer, the Pale di San Martino and the White horn. You will be enchanted by the phenomenon of the alpenglow at sunset: as the sun falls the Dolomite is lit up, colouring the Dolomitic rocks with a romantic, alluring pink. To find out more about the marvellous natural phenomenon visit the geological museum of the Dolomites of Predazzo. Fiemme Valley instinctively means nature: its territory stretches between two natural parks, Paneveggio - Pale di San Martino Natural Park, with the forest of the Violins and the Monte Corno natural park. These are uncontaminated places each step brings an emotional experience: the red fir trees chosen by Stradivari for the luthiers, deer, foxes, and the old sawmill. Fiemme Valley primarily means culture. The bond the population shares with its territory was awarded by the chief bishop of Trento in the 12th century: Fiemme Valley was recognised as having its own administrative autonomy. The magnificent community of Fiemme is divided into orders: each year their representatives elect the president of the community, called the Scario. Part of the independence is still preserved today: the Community deals with managing the forest heritage and the conservation of the historical, social and cultural identity among the population. Three languages are spoken in the territory: Ladin, Italian and German.
Fiemme Valley also means heritage of knowledge. Visit the various themed museums on the territory for a journey into time and space. The Museum of Contemporary Art, the old Venetian Sawmill at Cavalese, the Fassa Ladin Museum and the Centre of documentation of the 1985 Onlus Stava Foundation. The building of the Magnificent Community of Fiemme opens once more in the centre of Cavalese following renovation works: inside you will find the Art Gallery Museum that houses the works of the Fiemme school of painting, the testaments to family life, the tools of once upon a time and the documents of the community.
